Comedy Zen, L.A, and the Birthday Bash, Oh My!

Wow!  It’s been a crazy month so far.  Recently, I came back from my trip to L.A, where I opened for the show Comedy Zen!  This is a big step for me because I’ve been trying to get into the L.A scene for a while now.  I performed with the great Sugar Sammy, Dwayne Perkins and Danny Cho. They were all inspiring. The event happened on my birthday party, which I celebrated with some drinks at the after party.

I’m turning 24 this year and I’m getting a little older.  Some people find that age is a cruise and adulthood is full of misery and despair.  I think getting older is kinda cool. Personally, I have more freedom that I ever did when I was young.  Also, as man, I find aging has many hidden gifts. Generally, people take older men more seriously and being soft spoken is a virtue.  As a teen, I remember yelling a lot on stage in order to be heard, but now I can talk in a regular tone and audiences still find what I say to be funny.  It’s a crazy time right now because people at my age are at a crossroads - not yet adults but no longer children.  I’m very excited to see what happens in this stage of my life.

I’m interested in your thoughts on this subject, so please feel free to leave a comment or drop a line.

I’m having a delayed birthday party tonight, and I hope you can make it.  We are raffling off some great prizes (A portion of the money will go to the Haiti relief) and showcasing Rockson Yan’s amazing singers!
